In the late '40s, more specifically on February 1st, 1949, Mr. Ricardo Hobus founded the potter’s workshop, which is located on the street that now bears his name. That being a difficult time as building an industry in the middle of nowhere was already a challenge; there wasn’t even any electricity so, they moved their machines by animal power with their beautiful horses that were previously used in farming. Initially producing solid bricks and Germanic tiles, its production was small, it counted only on the local market and as its basic goal, was to generate additional income for the families during the offseason.
In 1968 the manufacture of Germanic tiles and solid bricks were paralyzed, dedicated exclusively to the manufacture of plain tiles.
In 1972 due to the death of Mr. Ricardo Hobus, the company's founder, the leadership of the company passed on to two of his sons, Mr. Conrad and Mr. Walfredo Hobus.
In 1982, the first backhoe was acquired and brought an end to the manual labor of carrying the clay.
In 1990, in order to meet the market’s requirements, the production of Roman tiles in small-scale started, which soon took almost the entire productive capacity of the factory.
In 1994, attending to the market demands, the need to double the production arose, making it feasible to start putting a dream of more than ten years into practice, which was the construction of its first continuous kiln for drying and burning shingles, giving more quality and uniformity to the product.
In 1996 with an overwhelming demand for a noble product, the study on enameled tiles began, needing to build another continuous kiln for the production of glazed tiles.
In 2006 the products and processes go through audits and won the certificate of conformity of products, from then on the ceramic tiles produced by the company are sampled and tested periodically in accordance with procedures of the CCB - Ceramic Center in Brazil and the standard test methods ABNT NBR 15310:2005.
In 2008 the project of building a new continuous furnace was terminated due to one with a greater productive capacity and unifying the enameling process, called single firing.
